Ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane separation technology that can remove suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, colloids and high molecular substances in water, while allowing water molecules and low molecular weight solutes to pass through. The pore size of ultrafiltration membranes is generally between 0.001 and 0.1 microns.
